The Role - A Day in the Life of a People & Culture Advisor
We have an exciting new opportunity for a proactive and people-focused People and Culture Advisor to deliver hands on support to our leaders in the organisation across the full employee lifecycle.
As a People & Culture Advisor you will partner closely with our People Leaders to provide clear, practical and timely advice across a broad range of workplace matters. You will support leaders in navigating employee relations issues, including performance management, conduct matters, and workplace investigations, helping build their capability and confidence in managing people.
Beyond day-to-day advisory support, you will contribute to key People and Culture initiatives to support the achievement of our actions in our People and Culture Strategy such as promoting a positive workplace culture that is fair, safe, and high-performing whilst maintaining and fostering our amazing workplace culture.
The role is also responsible for the end-to-end case management and administration of Queensland Workers Compensation claims.
This is a full time 12-month fixed term hybrid role, with the opportunity to work from home two days per week and the location is flexible our office locations in Queensland.
Criteria for Success
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a People and Culture/HR Advisory role
Hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources
Demonstrated understanding of current Fair Work legislation, National Employment Standards and modern Awards.
Demonstrated experience in return-to-work processes for injured workers and knowledge of the Queensland Workers Compensation system.
Demonstrated experience in advising staff and managers in relation to all employee related matters
Working knowledge and experience in using a HRIS
Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in usage of the Windows Office Suite IT programs.
Possess good attention to detail and be able to take direction and initiative
Highly proficient interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships and problem solve
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, self-motivation and professionalism
Demonstrated ability to prioritise, time manage and manage workload with competing demands
Ability to work as a team player and also autonomously
Be able to travel across ETC sites from time to time as required
Hold a current drivers licence
Hold or obtain a National Police Check and Blue Card
Desirable
Demonstrated knowledge and use of ELMO
