The Role - A Day in the Life of a Youth Advisor
As a Youth Advisor you will join a team dedicated to changing lives through employment, education and training. Support people to achieve their goals, build independence and create a positive future for themselves and their communities. You will provide intensive, pre-employment support to improve the work readiness of young people and to help them into work or education. This role has a strong focus on helping young people to understand what is expected in the workplace and to develop the skills, attitudes and behaviours expected by employers.
Your Key Responsibilities will include;
- Supporting young people one-on-one to build their confidence and job readiness
- Connecting young people with employers, training providers, and community organisations
- Providing support to participants, employers and education providers to convert job and education placements into sustainable outcomes
- Make a difference with helping young people achieve their goal
- Creating personalised job plans and portfolios
Criteria for Success
- 2 years experience working with young people (or similar)
- A passion for helping others succeed
- Exceptional communication skills
- Comfortable achieving individual and team employment, education, and training placement targets.
- A recent, clear National Police Check
- A current QLD Working With Children Blue Card
- Current drivers licence and comfortable with travel
Desirable
- A Certificate III in a related field
